Jesus is Greater than Moses

In Hebrews 3 we are encouraged to consider Jesus, who is greater than Moses. This statement would have been shocking to the original hearers. Moses, the greatest leader in Israel’s history, pales in comparison to Jesus. As we think about our lives we must ask, who is the greatest in our lives?

Danger of Drifting

In Hebrews 2:1 we read the first warning in this book. It says, “Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.” There is a real danger we face as followers of Jesus, the danger of drifting, of floating, of complacent in our relationship with Jesus. In this message we talk about the areas where we tend to drift.

Jesus is Greater

For the next three months we will be going through the book of Hebrews. Hebrews is a great book because it constantly points to Jesus and how he’s the fulfillment of all that was talked about in the Old Testament and greater than angels, Moses, and everyone else. You are encouraged to read through the book with us so below you will find a reading plan for the book of Hebrews. It’s about a chapter of Hebrews a week with references to other passages thrown in. Finally, below is a video that will give you a great overview of Hebrews.

Sojourners

1 Peter 2:11 says, Friends, this world is not your home, so don’t make yourselves cozy in it. This truth is seen throughout the New Testament. We are citizens of Heaven, strangers, exiles, sojourners. What does it mean to be a sojourner? How can we live like this world is not our home? We look at this passage and also Philippians 3 as we talk about being sojourners and truly living our lives for Jesus!
